A second teaser has been released by EbonyLife Films, producers of blockbuster movies, The Wedding Party, The Wedding Party 2, and The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, for the must-see movie of the year, Chief Daddy.

The first teaser of the movie, which was recently released, garnered over 23 million views on social media; the visual generated extensive buzz suggesting that this may be the biggest Nollywood movie of the year. The movie, which features an array of Nigeria’s finest actors, is set to be released in cinemas from December 14^th, 2018 with the premiere scheduled for December 2^nd at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos.

Chief Daddy, chronicles the life and death of Chief Beecroft, a beloved, wealthy and extremely benevolent industrialist. Played by Taiwo Obileye, Chief Beecroft is a well-known figure in the society with a large extended family, household staff and mistresses who are dependent on him.

Chief Daddy, as he is fondly called, suddenly dies leaving everyone displaced; what follows reveals enormous secrets, surprises, twists and turns. With the first teaser showing the pivotal moment chief dies, this 60-second teaser captures comedic duo, Chigul and Nedu, who play the hilarious roles of Chuchu and Jodi D, co-owners of a failing funeral business who hit the jackpot when they are contracted to coordinate the funeral. 

The dramatic comedy promises fans a laughter-filled cinema experience with a line-up of eccentric characters and an explosive storyline.

The third of five teasers for the movie Chief Daddy has been released by EbonyLife Films. This teaser, like previous ones, captures some of the hilarious scenes from this delightful comedy-drama.

Chief Daddy tells the story of affluent and flamboyant Chief Beecroft and the dramatic events that occur following his death. Captured in this teaser are Chief Daddy’s daughters, played by Kate Henshaw and Funke Akindele, expressing their distaste for his wife, Lady Kay (Joke Silva). This dramatic clip is only a sneak peek into the craziness of Chief Daddy’s household after his demise.

The thirty-second teaser captures one of many disputes that occur following the demise of Chief Beecroft. The explosive scene shows the moment Chief Daddy’s mistresses, played by star actresses Ini Edo, Shaffy Bello and Linda Ejiofor, come to blows in yet another conflict over his legacy. 

Reiterating her excitement about the film, executive producer Mo Abudu, said:

This is definitely one of my favourite scenes from the movie. We had crew members struggling to keep a straight face because it was so funny. We can’t wait for everyone to see Chief Daddy in cinemas during the holidays, but until then, they can enjoy these snippets.

Still to come is the fifth and final teaser and an official full-length trailer which promises to include jaw-dropping moments from the movie. 

The film will be premiered on December 2^nd, with its release scheduled for December 14^th, just in time for Christmas.

Played by award-winning rapper, entertainer and actor, Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana, Famzy is the spoiled, privileged son and heir apparent of Chief Beecroft, who turned down a role in his father’s company to pursue a career in music. With the help of his mother, played by Joke Silva, Famzy is determined to get the bulk of his father’s wealth to fund his multi-million naira ambition.

In line with the dress code, ‘Opulently Nigerian – Be Extra’, guests were adorned in unique and exquisite attire, exemplifying the country’s dynamic culture on a grand scale. The premiere attracted a long list of VIPs from business and politics, including the wife of the vice-president of Nigeria, Dolapo Osinbajo, who gave the welcome speech; Lagos gubernatorial aspirants Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Jimi Agbaje and their wives. Sponsors included the MD of Keystone Bank, Obeahon Ohiwerei; Stella Obinwa and Salim Ali Mohamed Dahman of Dubai Tourism; MD of Airtel, Olusegun Ogunsanya; and Nike Adebola of Guinness Nigeria. After, the runway was set for a fashion show with #Teamfashion putting their best foot forward to present a great show. #TeamFootball also put on a show as they showcased a football-inspired dance piece to which musician Waje scored them 8/10 when asked about her thoughts on their performance. Rooting for #TeamFootball, Noble Igwe scored the team 9/10.

The performances continued with one from RnB singer Niyola and Alobam singer Phyno.

With all the fun done, it was the moment of truth. Nigeria’s true passion was unveiled as Olumide Ajibolade was declared winner over Henrietta with #TeamFootball winning 52% of the votes compared to #TeamFashion’s 48% in the voting outcome by Nigerian via Facebook and SMSs across the nation.

Olumide, shocked by the outcome, broke into prayers as he beamed with joy and called his family to break the news in 6 words “tell them say I don win”, the crowd erupted into laughter and applause.

Uche Onwudiwe, the Marketing Manager of Malta Guinness said “we are glad to have been the umpires in finding Naijas true passion. People have always assumed it was football and really the fashion industry is an exciting one plus they gave a good fight on this one but football came out tops with a narrow margin. However, whichever passion it was, the Malta Guinness brand purpose is all about helping the everyday Nigerians get ready for that big break that is all around us either by nourishing them with goodness and vitality or helping them with rare opportunities like this one”.

Reacting to his win of the grand prize which is a trip to England for a series of training and coaching classes and a sum of two million Naira cash, Olumide said “they say Malta Guinness fuels the passion of Naija, I am a testimony! Our lives are changed forever and I am deeply grateful to Malta Guinness, my team captain Daniel Amokachi, our rival captain Mrs Lanre Da Silva, all other contestants and the almighty God“.

Celebrating the win on this grand night with the contestants were a list of celebrities that includes football legend, Taribo West, Rapper Phyno, songstress and vocalist, Waje and Omawumi; media personalities Joseph Benjamin, Adams Ibrahim and Noble Igwe, DJ Xclusive, among others.

Lepacious Bose has surpised fans with a new shoot exclusively on BellaNaija. Bosede Olufunke Ogunboye aka Lepacious Bose has been on her weightloss journey over the last 12 months. According to Lepacious Bose says fans have been super supportive of her decision to improve her health via eating healthy and exercising.



In her words

“Being a professional comedian allows me turn anything into a joke and I often used my weight as a joke but this weight loss journey isn’t a joke, I still want to come down a few sizes more and I am determined, working very hard at it. The health benefits come first and if I can be honest, I actually feel better. I carry myself better now because carrying all that weight around was equivalent to me carrying three bags of rice which I didn’t realise until the load was dropped…Talk about my burden becoming lighter. Lol.

The only problem is I have to buy new clothes with every size I lose…and that’s very expensive, everytime I need to go out I panic because suddenly everything is now too big, its a new and strange experience for me, because everything used to be too small and tight lol”

Lepacious Bose who is an eloquent speaker and lawyer, admits she was a little bit nervous about the photoshoot, because she “still feels too big”. She has come a long way from size 32 to size 18, yet she feels she is still a long way off though she admits that she loves these photos and cannot stop admiring them.

The future is looking even better for Lepacious Bose as there are whispers of a new TV show and corporate endorsements.
